OVERVIEW OF SERVICES
Restorative Dentistry
This includes procedures to rebuild cracked, damaged, or disesased tooth structure. Examples of restorative procedures include: tooth colored fillings, dental crowns, and dental bridges.
Dental Crowns / Caps
Dental crowns, dental caps, tooth caps or crowns are tooth shaped coverings placed on teeth to rebuild or strengthen them. Crowns cover all of the tooth structure at and above the gum line. Crowns can also be used to change or enhance the cosmetic appearance of a tooth.
Sedation Dentistry or Sleep Dentistry
Sedation dentistry is a way to have all of your dental needs treated without the sight, sounds and memory of the procedure. Sedation dentistry relaxes you enough that you'll be completely unaware that you are at a dentist office. When everything is done, you'll wake up with little or no memory of the procedure. You can catch up on years of putting off trips to the dentist in as little as one or two visits. A Nurse Anesthetist provides the IV sedation while Dr. Shamblott provides the dental services.
Periodontics or Gum Disease Treatments
Gum disease is a major cause of toot loss. It is the destruction of the bone supports of the teeth. Gum disease is caused by plaque that forms on your teeth and leads to bone loss. Gum disease increases your chances of developing conditions such as heart disease, respiratory disease, and diabetes. Gum disease is treated by professional dental cleanings of various types depending on the severity of the disease.
Prosthodontics
Prosthodontics is the treatment of missing, damaged, or broken teeth. Procedures commony used to rebuild and replace teeth include: crowns, bridges, dentures, partial dentures, and implants. Treatments for TMJ problems also fall under this category.
Oral Cancer / Oral Pathology
This is the detection and treatment of conditions of the mouth. Oral pathology includes identifying and treating mouth sores and screening for oral cancer.
Extractions / Oral Surgery
Oral surgery is the gentle removal of teeth. Teeth are extracted for many reasons including: infection, disease, fractured or cracked teeth, or insufficient space for the tooth. Oral sugery includes the removal of wisdom teeth that can be impacted or locked in place below the gum line. Left in place, wisdom teeth can cause pain, infection, decay, damage to adjacent teeth, crowding, and jaw fracture. Wisdom teeth can be causing significant damage even if you do not have any symptoms.
Sleep Apnea Treatments
Sleep Apnea is a potentially life threatening condition that is caused by a blockage of the airway, usually when the soft tissue in the rear of the throat collapses and closes during sleep. Left untreated, sleep apnea can cause heart disease, high blood pressure, weight gain, memory problems, weight gain, and impotency. Treatment for sleep apnea can include CPAP, oral appliances and surgery.

"The staff was patient and friendly. The free NO2 was, albeit almost unnecessary in hindsight, a nice touch; and I got to select a funny movie to watch throughout the procedure. All in all, from my initial exam to the completion of the work, it was a much better experience than I'd expected."
