When’s the best time to floss? Is there a correct way to floss? We’ll give you the flossing scoop!

Have you ever wonder exactly how much floss you should be using? Around 18 inches is a good starting spot. You will want to wind the floss around you middle fingers and pinch the floss with the thumb and index fingers. Flossing at least once a day will help prevent periodontal (gum) disease.

One important thing to remember is to not snap the floss between your teeth. You will want to guide the floss between the teeth with a zig-zag motion. According to the American Dental Hygienists Association, you should slide the floss up and down against the tooth and under the gum line. One last thing...make sure to use a clean section of floss for each tooth!
