Dental crowns can enhance the appearance of your teeth by repairing teeth that are damaged. Crowns are tooth shaped coverings that are placed to rebuild and strengthen the teeth. A crown will cover all of the tooth structure at and above the gum line.

The different types of crowns available include: ceramic, gold, and porcelain fused to metal. Ceramic may be the most appealing, but porcelain fused to metal may be more appropriate on back teeth because of its strength. With a porcelain fused to metal crown, some metal may show at the gum line. Each type of crown has its own benefit and detraction. You will want to discuss the different treatment options and benefits of each with Dr. Shamblott or Dr. De Llano when you are here.

Do you have flex benefits that expire soon? Call us to schedule a free initial exam and x-rays and to use your benefits before the end of the year!
